This page will take a 'long'time to load, but the photography is gorgeous.

This is my vacation in Jenner California back in October 1996 to January 1997. I got there by bicycling (on a Trek 7000) from Oakland through storms and rainbows, leaving behind a good shot at a $100k / yr programming job. I left my posessions on the sidewalk and packed about 160 pounds of gear (cameras, art supplies, tarot decks & gypsy paraphernalia, mechanics tools) which took some arranging to keep the weight low, things  organized, & still fit on the elevator to take the BART under the SF Bay. I broke my hand the first day out crossing the Golden Gate Bridge & was helped by a man who leant me his boat for the night. I camped in Tomales bay for awhile where I met an ILM photographer taking background shots for 'Morrocco', and drank brews with guitar playing Argetinans (in fact I played harmonica with so many styles on that trip).

I stopped past Jenner because a barn seemed to have a mystical artistic quality in the way the rocks were arranged. It turned out to be an 1880 dairy barn turned into an antique store and wood carving studio by a Harley riding polish holocaust survivor who showed me new mystical states, though others knew him as a con man with a murder charge. I stayed up six days straight till I was seeing elves in the trees.

The place was on the beach, with lovely cliffs and a gorgeous redwood stump that Peter was obsessed with.

My job was to repair the Harley's, cook abalone & apple dumplings on the the wood stove and wash dishes with water hauled in from the spigot outside. I also got to replace some leaking plumbing, exciting work since there was no water shut off from the tower up the hill. The parts in the foreground are from the 1901 seven foot tall bandsaw I was restoring in yellow and red.

Besides painting abalone finish nails, I painted driftwood pieces similar to this pregnant woman in my window and this demon I waxed in the woodstove for my brother while Peter  did various carvings & took his spirit photos.
